Biographical and administrative history: In 1987 an incident occurred near the compound of the mine during which a crowd armed with a variety of weapons allegedly attacked mine security personnel. The security staff fired on the crowd and several people were injured. Teleko Khatlako and 52 others took the company to court claiming unlawful, alternatively negligent, use of force and claiming damages from the company. The records consist of 7 volumes of court documents relating to claimants 9 to 53 (summonses, pleas, employment records, medical records, lawyers' correspondence etc.)
